About Sara

Clarinetist

Sara Hoffman was born in Illinois and moved to Texas when she was young. She grew up in Belton, Texas and comes from parents who cannot read music and do not play a musical instrument. It was when her older brother joined band that she was excited to give it a try! Her brother, Eric, played the saxophone so Ms. Hoffman gave it a try but she realized that she wanted to play clarinet instead. She chose to play clarinet in middle school and fell in love with the instrument! During her time in middle school and high school, Ms. Hoffman had amazing teachers who made music fun and inspired her to grow up to become a music teacher herself. She loved teaching and music so much that she decided to go to Texas Tech University where she learned how to become a teacher and a better clarinet player. During her time at Texas Tech, Ms. Hoffman played in many different ensembles, taught lessons, and made lots of friends! She even went across the world to Italy to play her clarinet (and ate plenty of pizza and pasta)!

Ms. Hoffman is excited to be teaching music as a middle school band director in Frisco, Texas. She can't wait to make band and music even more fun like her teachers did when she was beginning to learn clarinet! When Ms. Hoffman is not teaching music, she loves to read, run, travel, and has just learned how to crochet!
